What’s a “Rain Garden” and Why Fill It with “Natives”?

Come and tour a new one in Mt. Airy!

Monday, September 16, 4:00 pm

Lovett Library, 6945 Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy

Our guide to native rain gardens will be Rose Johnson. A Tree Tender and Master Watershed Steward, Rose Johnson is focused on bringing more trees and native plants to our community.

Rose Johnson will tell us about rain gardens – what they are, how they benefit us, how they are designed. She’ll also talk about the value of native plants in our ecosystem. Finally, we’ll take a tour of the newly installed native rain garden on the library grounds.

The event is free and open to the public.

Please arrive a few minutes early, so the room is ready for the next library program.

There is ample time for lingering in the grounds outside.

Co-sponsored by NVN’s Program and Garden Committees and Friends of Lovett Library.
