Sweat is a well-known, highly regarded play, performed in Philadelphia many times, written by Lynn Nottage. The play explores themes of identity, politics, gender, race, and labor relations in a deeply human way, by telling the story of people in Reading, Pennsylvania who are laid off from their jobs during the de-industrialization of the town, causing a huge swath of working-class folks to be out of a job. The play refers to the hard labor that its characters have put in for decades, only to find their modest livelihoods threatened by the elimination of manufacturing jobs in America.

Accessibility details: The theater is handicapped accessible. There are no stairs to enter the theater. There is room for one wheelchair space only for any given performance. The auditorium side doors can open to allow a wheelchair direct access to the auditorium seating without going through the lobby. Bathrooms are also handicapped accessible.

There is no on-site parking by order of the Philly Fire Dept, only on-street parking. For those who cannot walk far, you may drive to the lobby entrance (through a tunnel) to drop the person off and then leave to find parking.
