Article Discussion Group – 1st Mondays
Participants meet the first Monday afternoon of each month to discuss articles of current interest. An egalitarian group, each monthly discussion has its own leader.
Book Discussion (Monthly) – 3rd Thursdays
Participants meet the third Thursday of each month. Take a look at the list of books we’ve read!
Social Justice Book Group (Weekly) – Friday Afternoons
Participants meet weekly as they “slow read” and discuss their chosen book.
Embracing Loss – 2nd and 4th Thursdays
Participants share tea and stories at an informal gathering of NVN members who have suffered a significant loss and who find comfort and support with others who have had a similar experience.
Film Discussions and Potlucks – 3rd Monday Evenings
Participants select two films for the month, watch them on their own, and then gather for a potluck dinner and discussion in the homes of NVN members. So popular there are now two groups! [Potlucks on hold During Covid-19 Crisis, but vibrant discussions continue!]
Gardening – Monday Afternoons
Gardeners meet weekly at each other's gardens on Monday Afternoons.
Participants meet monthly to share knowledge and experience and give support to others interested in the field of photography. The group takes field trips for photo shoots, suggests places to go on their own, and then meets to look at photos which members bring on a thumb drive or on their computer for show or critique. Members have also photographed NVN programs and events and have created photo shows for NVN members.
Walking Group – Wednesday Mornings
Walkers meet at 10:00 am at Morris Arboretum, as weather permits.
"NVN has provided an extended family of new friends who are becoming close friends through the many activities we have shared. I am a single woman and I relish the chance to share pre-planned activities with other seniors."
